Grasshopper, Kung Fu of the mind will make you a better negotiator.

If your first reaction to threat or insult is Cerebral, then you can stop an Emotional reaction.

Start practicing Control of Your Emotions by practicing  labeling behavior, (e.g., Car Rage:  "He is in a hurry."). It doesn't matter if you are right or wrong--the point is your first reaction was not about you.  And that reaction will keep you calm and give you the opportunity for insight.

Wax on, Wax off.

Insult!  "He is frustrated."  Better than, "Same to You Buddy."  Calm leads to Insight.

Perhaps at the end of the day you can write in your diary how you labeled today.

Don't let people or events control your reactions--you can make choices.  And Don't be discouraged in your practice:  Aristotle says, "It's easier to control our anger, than it is to control our pleasures."
