Saving Face
If you insult, you now have two problems: the one you just created and the one you had. Moreover, you can't get to the original problem without doing the Saving Face problem first.
Options, Options, Options: creative minds separate negotiators.
Separate Needs from Wants and address the needs with options. A demand is an expressed solution/option to a need that is not often identified.
